The U.S. Army plans to procure Light Capability Rough Terrain Forklifts (LCRTFs). The LCRTF is defined as a rough terrain forklift that has an extendible boom with two axles, and four wheel steering. It is powered with a diesel engine compatible with military fuels, and hydrostatic or automatic transmission. It is required by the Army to accomplish many tasks such as clear landing zones of supplies and equipment, to load and unload combat vehicles, aircraft and ISO containers. The LCRTF will be required to meet all the stated requirements in the LCRTF Army Technical Purchase Description (ATPD).
